The Villa Franceze is built in the ’80s. The communist regime has built this villa to accommodate the french engineers, that worked to build the Koman Hydropower Plant.
With the fall of communism, the lands were returned to the owners and in ‘95 my father bought the Vila Franceze
since it was built on grandfather’s land. At that time this villa was totally destroyed and the lands
surrounding were desolate. With the vision of a far-sighted man, as well as with my support, my father managed to turn the Vila Franceze into a real oasis. He, in addition to the restoration of
accommodation facilities, worked hard to plant the surrounding lands with vineyards, walnuts, dates and
decorative trees, as well as improved water infrastructure, enabling fishing and navigation.
The locals call it the Villa of the French and we decided to preserve this tradition, being convinced that
that villa has a history that needs to be told to generations.
